At Rancho Village Veterinary Hospital, we are committed to providing compassionate care and support to both our patients and the people who love them.
We believe in open, honest communication and will take the time to answer your questions, explain your pet's condition, and help you understand what to expect moving forward.
After reviewing your pet's medical history and diagnosis, our veterinary team will meet with you to discuss the disease, recommended staging, available treatment options, expected outcomes, and your pet's prognosis. Together, we will develop a treatment plan tailored to your pet's needs and quality of life.
After a diagnosis of cancer, additional diagnostic testing can help to determine the extent of cancer in the body, which allows us to optimize treatment options and better predict prognosis.
When staging is complete, your veterinarian will explain the appropriate treatment options. Cancer can be treated by several therapies or combinations of treatments, including surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapies, or palliative care when appropriate.
For advanced care, we may refer you to a Board-Certified Veterinary Oncologist.
Our veterinarians can treat many forms of cancer in cats and dogs, but some cases require specialized diagnostics, surgery, or advanced treatment that we do not offer.
If referral care is recommended for your pet, we will work closely with the specialist to help ensure your companion receives the highest standard of care.
Rancho Village Veterinary Hospital is accepting new patients! Our experienced vets are passionate about the health of La Mesa companion animals. Get in touch today to book your pet's first appointment.
